Student Orientation to PBS

Fun in the Sun Requirements

To be eligible to attend the Fun in the Sun Activity that is held in May, an eighth grade student must adhere to the folowing or he/she will not be allowed to attend:

1. Student must have not been suspended out of school.

2. Student must have no more than two days spent in in-school suspension.

3. Student must have no more than one Saturday detenion.

4. Student must have no more than three administrative detentions.

5. Student must have a minimum of a 1.5 grade point average.

6. Students must have no outstanding blance or fees (library, lunch, or any money owed to St. Tammany Jr.)

St. Tammany Jr. High reward system was originally created in January of 2008 with a PBS committee that consisted of the social studies department,a parent,3 students(1 form each grade), the Vice Principal, and the Resource Helping Teacher. Each year it is reviewed by thye students, a parent, and PBS committee.

Criteria for Students to recive wildcat bucks:

students must meet behavior expectations set by the 3 R's. For example, opens the door the door for the faculty or other students, helps a student or faculty pick up an onject that was drooped, resolve a promblem through discussion rather than fighting.

Wildcat Store:

Students can purchase items items from the Wildcat Store before school, at lunch, and after school each day of the week.

Rewards for students:

PTA funded honor roll breakfast (each 9 weeks)

Honor roll bumper stickers

PTA funded attendance breakfast (each 9 weeks)

Attendance bumper stickers

Barbeque for students that have not received a detenion (each semester)

Educational; field trips

Wildcats bucks that can be spent at the wildcat Store

Attendance at a New Orleans Hornets basketball game

Wildcat Olypic BBQ

Student of the Month (BOy and Girl for each grade level)

Fun in the Sun (8th grade only)
